Antonov faces 10 years in prison in Lithuania, and three years in Latvia

The Russian billionaire former owner of Snoras and Latvijas Krājbanka, Vladimir Antonov in Lithuania faces 10 years, and in Latvia - three years in prison – writes Diena newspaper.

In Latvia, Antonov was declared a suspect in connection with outflow of LVL 100 million from Latvijas Krājbanka. Meanwhile, Lithuania has already issued an international arrest warrant for Antonov. There Snoras bank lost LTL 1 billion (200 million LVL). However, the actual situation may be even worse.
As the newspaper writes, in Latvia the case was initiated under the paragraph 1 of Article 196 of the Criminal Law, where the maximum penalty is three years. Antonov was seen last in Latvia on November 16, when Lithuania has nationalized Snoras. In Lithuania, Antonov and the other shareholder, Raymond Baranauskas, were accused of embezzlement on a large scale and forgery. Thus, both businessmen face in Lithuania up to 10 years in prison.

According to the Lithuanian prosecutor's office, the suspects are abroad. It is possible that Baranauskas is hiding in Latvia.
